Living "Loved"
I have something really important to tell you today. Lean in close. Really let this get past your self-doubts and into those assurance-seeking places in your heart...

God is absolutely crazy about you!
Yes you. The beautiful one sitting there looking at the screen.

I know it's hard to believe sometimes, but it's true. You fill God's heart with absolute joy and every day you take His breath away with your smile.

Just a slight glance in His direction makes Him pause. He loves the unique way you do things. He really enjoys watching others love on you and bring out His best in you. And He's not critical of your mistakes like you sometimes think, or waiting for you to do something productive. He simply delights in you because you are His. And that is enough.

It took me 20 years to understand and 10 more years to truly believe this was the reality of God's love for me. The same was true for my friend Sheri Rose Shepherd who I've asked to be a girlfriend guest blogger with us today. Like many of you, I've been blessed by God's words written through her, so today I'm giving away a copy of her book, "His Princess." More about that in a minute.

Sheri Rose is a woman who can relate to almost any woman’s battle. A former Mrs. United States, she grew up in a dysfunctional home and was severely overweight as a teen. As a young woman, she battled depression and an eating disorder. In spite of an English teacher telling her she was “born to lose” and a learning disorder—Dyslexia—Sheri Rose has (in God’s strength) become a Best Selling and award-winning author. Sheri Rose is also an internationally known speaker and Bible life coach.

Today, in my devotion on P31 and Crosswalk, I shared about God's lavish love for us and how He wants us to live "loved" because we are. Then I asked Sheri Rose to share with us what she believes is the most important thing for women to know, so we can grasp the depth of God's love for us. Here is what she said:

People often ask me, “How did you break free from your painful past and the lies and learn to embrace truth.” To be honest, I still have to fight the lies I’ve believed about myself. It seems to be the battle each woman I have met faces.

Many of us have experienced what I call “Spiritual Identity Theft.” We’ve somehow lost our confidence in who we are in Christ, and we feel worthless or wounded by someone’s words.Others of us hold in our hearts a false identity. We believe a lie about ourselves and we have allowed that lie to define us.

I understand what it is like to feel worthless and walk with a wounded heart from hurtful words. Perhaps you're just recognizing the root of the lie you have been living in. Maybe it was hurtful words spoken to you by a father or mother, brother or sister, teacher, boyfriend or husband. Maybe it was an employer who thoughtlessly felt like dumping lies on you.

I don’t think those hurtful words are easily forgotten but I do know healing and wholeness can become reality in our lives when we learn how to embrace God’s truth. You do not have to let others’ hurtful words define you anymore. They did not give their life, as Jesus did, to prove your worth. We are Daughters of the King of Kings whether we feel like it or not.

Let me be a spiritual mentor and give you the three keys to unlocking lies and finding your true identity, I call it “a truth makeover.”

1. Know the Truth. You Are...
  • Chosen By God (John 15:16)
  • A New Creation (2 Corinthians 5:17)
  • Holy and Pure (1 Peter 2:9)
  • A Trophy of His Grace (Ephesians 2:8)
  • His Princess Warrior (2 Timothy 4:7)
  • His Beloved Bride (Psalm 45:11)
2. Speak The Truth...
Whenever a lie is spoken to you or a lie enters your mind, speak this Truth out loud...
“That is a lie. My worth is not in what anyone else says about me or what I feel at the moment.”

3. Fast Off Speaking Lies
Try a seven-day fast by not speaking anything negative about yourself or repeating any lies that have been spoken over you or about you. If possible, ask a friend to hold you accountable to speak only truth.

4. Read this Love Letter from God:
My Chosen Daughter, You are royalty even when you don’t feel like a princess. How you feel about yourself will never change the truth of who you are in Me. You are My treasure, and I have chosen you. If you ever begin to doubt your significance, just look to the cross and remember I gave my life to prove your worth. I see your heart and I know you fight to find truth. So start by recognizing who I am: the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, and your Daddy in heaven. Saturate yourself in My truth and you will discover how loved and treasured you are.

Love, Your Lord who is Truth

Hi sweet Renee (and Sheri),

I turned 41 last week, and I felt so disappointed with myself for not making more progress in my healing journey over the past year. I can't waste any more time.

If I received the coaching or the cd's, I'd share them with my friend Susan who is rebuilding a new life as a single mom of two almost-grown sons. She loves the Lord so much and needs to see herself the way He sees her.

Thanks for sharing such beautiful truth ladies, LeeBird

Hey Renee and Sheri,
I have really been encouraged receiving daily devotions .
It has been a daily highlight and words of assurance and hope. I have often shared your devotions with my own family. I have often been comforted by reading God's promises presented through your devotions.
Thank you and God bless you.

Thank you for your post! I seem to forget that God is crazy about me, I guess due to early feelings that I just didn't measure up. I'm 57 now, and a grammy, and still struggle with this every day. I'm praying that my children and grandchildren learn this early on and I try to tell them every time I speak with them.
I'd share this with my friends at church, who struggle with this too. Thank you for your writings and wonderful insights!

I am in my 40's and oh how this brings back the words that were spoken to me as a teenager. Things like "you will never do anything with your life". I do suffer from low self esteem and if I was to receive the coaching or the cd's I would share them with friends who are going through the same thing.

Tracy Whitesburg, TN. 37 and holding at least til May. I would like to win the sessions to give away to my baby sisters who are twins. They are on the brink of their adult life and could so use the training sessions. They have been my little girls since their birth while I was in 8th grade. With the help of my Nanny, I took them to church all their life from my pre-teen years through my college years even coming home each weekend to make sure they got to church. They stopped going to church not long after I was married. I pray that they would reignite their love for the Lord and lean on his understanding when starting their new journeys. I pray daily for their husbands to be and that they make the right decisions to keep them from harm. They are good girls and have a good foundation but I know their lives would be so much richer if they were truly led by the Father. My twin sisters could use the life coaching and would benefit greatly. Thank you for your post and your passion for follwoing the Lord's call.

Good morning, Renee & Sheri,

In the quiet & freedom of my now empty nest, several "elephants in the rooms" of my inner house have become quite obvious--I have run out of excuses to ignore them, to keep them quietly in the corner. I am learning to let my Father help me, and Zephaniah 3:17 is my guiding verse! (I have had the verse printed up on business cards & share the reminder, as the Spirit guides me, to women I meet in my work as a Mary Kay consultant.)

If I received the coaching or the cd's, I would share them with my 20-something daughter, who is walking with the Lord through a chronic illness, while working in her first professional position, 600 miles from "home".

Thank you for your ministering to us, Maysie Grace

This is tough. I turn 42 next week....am overweight and have never been so in my life. It has made me depressed and exhausted to get around. I just joined a weight loss group and am moving forward after the death of my Mom in August of last year...it has been very hard to accept her death. At the same time my hubby lost his job but was blessedly able to return to his old one again. We have many things to be blessed for and I am learning to concentrate on those instead of the negative all the time. It is time to let go of the past and move forward. I would share this opportunity with my friend Lisa who has been my closest friend forever. She is awesome and I love her to bits. Thanks for this great message, I'm printing it out and putting in my journal.

Hi Ladies,

I enjoyed your teaching so much. It's similar to our discussion at prayer group last night. Many of the 10 or so women struggle with who we are in Christ. One with depression, another with alcohol, and yet another with sexual identity. I'm 57 this month and it's taken me a long time to really believe that I am who God says I am and to love myself despite my struggle with weight. I would love to share your teachings with my prayer group ladies. I live in Birmingham, AL.

I am a chaplain at our local hospital and see lots of tough situations. It really helps me to read what you write in your devotionals. I would probably take the extra cd to our office and give it out to people I encounter in the hospital who I think would benefit from it. The extra coaching season since I believe is on the computer I would give to dear friend. One of our closest friends died this week and it has been a tough week. Thanks so much for all you do and allowing God to shine so strongly through you.

On the day I celebrate the love that my husband and I share, our 12th anniversary, I needed the reminder that he is not the only one that loves me. I've been battling the "why" question and trying to rest in God but it's been a struggle lately as I deal with self induced infertility. I know in my head that God catches each of my tears in His hand, but I sometimes begin to believe the lie that He doesn't care. Thanks for showing me that I need to refute that thought each and every time it pops up.

Hi, My name is Gina. I'm 36. Thank you for always posting such encouraging thoughts and scriptures. It is hard getting through this life without feeling a little beaten up. I appreciate your honesty and ability to be brave enough to be real. This was definitely what I needed this morning as I'm going through some difficult things and trying to put the past to rest. I have to constantly remind myself that God is there, he loves me, and everything is going to be ok.

If I received either prize, I'd share with my friend who comes from a similar background to help her remember who she is in Christ when the pain of the past comes up over and over.

Thank you again for reminding us of the truth of who we are in Christ.

Hi Renee,
I am almost 40 (in July) and I find myself believing all the negative comments I have heard about myself. So much so, that it has lowered my self-esteem and self-confidence. I know God loves me but sometimes I just really have a hard time wrapping my arms around the idea of just how much. I would love to have one of the cds that could help me grow in my knowledge of my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I would love to share this CD with one of my friends, Celia, who struggles with her own insecurites everyday. This would be such an uplifting experience for us to share this together and to hold each other accountable to not believe the lies we have been told.

Dear One,

I smiled reading your delightful devotion this morning. Having reared five children, I know the feeling well. I remember the first born and the desire to just hold him forever. Now he's a grown man, but then I would often wake up to find him asleep in the rocking chair with Jeff's arms around him, holding him safely.

Another thing that I remember well is being so afraid that I couldn't love another child nearly as much as I loved him. Yet with each new baby, my love grew enough to encompass that one, too.

I imagine that is how it is with God. Don't you?

Hi Renee,
I'm Bev, 56, and living in SW Montana. This year I am spending a lot of time studying and believing I truly am God's princess, and work diligently to combat the lie that I am not loved. I looked at the sunrise, and realize what a gift form God. I would share the coaching, CD's or book with a dear friend who is also on a similar journey.

Thanks for the wonderful words of encouragement.

I am a single mom of two beautiful daughters, 16 and 12. We live in a very small county town, I am 55 years old and work part time in my church office. I believe God is trying to get His messaage of love to my heart in a very concrete way. Yesterday I heard a song on the radio that touched my heart, JJ Heller's "What Love Really Means" and today I read your devotional "Living Loved". The hurts are too many to name but God can work through all of them for my good.

I have a friend that encourages me and holds me accountable. I share everything with her.

I'm Terri Lynn, 45 in NC. I would give both CD's away (I already have it and love it!) to Jess and Patti - two women who bless me by their strengths and struggles in resting assured in God.

If I were to win the Bible Life coaching sessions I feel compelled that I should give both of these women the sessions. It isn't that I wouldn't like one for myself, trust me I have read the sneak peak and would LOVE to be chosen to receive this blessing, but I am certain that I would be blessed through what they would learn as God continues to work in and through the three of us.

I'd love to win the Princess book. His Princess Warrior is a close companion to me now. It was a gift from a fellow princess warrior this past Christmas, a woman who has blessed my life with an amazing Spirit-filled friendship full of encouragement as I continue in my surrender to allow Christ to turn my scars into beauty marks and enable me to be of use to Him through women's ministry.

Renee, Sheri Rose, this was a timely word that I am so grateful to you both for bringing!

I received this message today.... As I read the more and more I seen myself and many females in my life. To know the LOVE GOD has for his children is REMARKABLE. I THANK GOD for Loving me when I could not Love myself. The LORD is working on me preparing me for something BIGGER, so I need all the prayers and encouragement to stay and move when GODS says it's time.
Thank you
MAY GOD CONTINUE TO BLESS YOU ALL

Thanks for the post Renee. This is a timely post and a "heads up" from God because this morning I read Ephesians 2:10 and Psalms 139: 13 - 14. I am at a place where I am just starting to realize that HE loves and cares for me and only wants the very best for me.

Thanks for the reassurance that God loves me and wants me to live "loved". I am AnnMarie, age 49 and I am from Jamaica. If I receive the prize, I would share it with my daughter, Sachan who struggles with words that were inflicted on her. I must confess that I have inflicted some of those words because of situations that I was going through. Please pray for both of us.

I love the input from Sheri and I am going to copy it so I can read it over and over until it sinks deep into my spirit.

Thank you! Started Beth Moore's series "Believing God" just last night at church and we are asked to note each day for th enext five days a God inspired moment. That was reading today's post from the two of you. If there is one lie I have carried to detriment it is believing I was unloveable and a failure. God is showing up in huge ways in my life right now as I search for new employment and begin moving past doubt to opening my own little online art store. Who would I share with? Multiple people - 7 wonderful ladies in my small group would enjoy the journey of any of the CD's with me, but there is one I would most definately love to give a copy to. My friend Terry lost her son recently, but she's the one who when you marry theology with faith and belief is the most Godly Girl I've ever met. I believe reaffirming her own sense of God's love for her would be a most precious gift. Thank you both for today's words! Jennifer

My self-esteem, well I'll be honest, what self esteem! I have none. I have isolated myself from almost everyone. My best friend, my mother, passed away 1 yr. ago today.

Hi, my name is Leah and I'm 54. I love the topic today. It perfectly fits me - the friendly, out-going person with a gift of hospitality, but who secretly lives with such insecurity that without the love of Christ, would threaten to become frozen by fear of rejection and past regrets. I am so thankful that God snatched me as a little girl up into His arms and held my heart through nearly a lifetime of verbal abuse, oppression and even self-condemnation. And even now has delivered me and is raising me up to fully become the woman He planned for me to be!

The stress of raising two kids with an unbelieving spouse are hard but when hurtful words are used, it is hard not to let the lies replaces the truth. The fb post from Proverbs 31 is what led me to your site and today's post. Oh my, I began to cry when I read your words. I asked Jesus into my heart around the age of 6 and I've been involved in church all my life. But it hasn't been until recently that I am beginning to understand his love for me. It isn't based on what I do or what I don't do. He loves me no matter what. I feel like I'm on the 20-year plan, too. I'm trying to grasp it and I'm so thankful for his mercy and grace in continuing to show me just how much with posts like yours, songs on Christian radio, and devotions that continue to drill it in. HE LOVES ME! I have read His Princess through once and am in the process of reading it through again. Such beautiful words Sheri has written. I'm so thankful how God has used her book to speak to this heart that struggles to accept HIS unconditional love. I'm 40, live in the heart of NC, and if I should win would share these gifts with my friend, Missi.

Again, thank you for letting God speak his love through you to me today.

My name is Jennifer and I am going to be 50 this year. I have spent hours upon hours over 14 years time trying to learn and believe truth, and have once again found myself battling depression. The training you spoke of would truly be a gift. I know many of us need it.

The letter from our Father was very meaningful to me b/c it said "I see you fight for truth." The timing of this encouragement was truly miraculous.

The Lord has allowed me to minister, even in this place, to a friend named Lou Ann who grew up with a similar "religious" background and family. I would share any learning materials with her.

Dyslexia—Sheri Rose has (in God’s strength) become a Best Selling and award-winning author. Sheri Rose is also an internationally known speaker and Bible life coach.

I also struggled with dyslexia when I was a child. I grew up thinking that something was wrong with me.

I am forty five years old now and I am fighting hard to overcome this lie. The lie screams at me day and night, "you are dumb and your writing is awful."

Fear that something is wrong with me, I have a hard time stepping out and taking risks.

I want to write for the Lord and daily I have to work through the mental block of doubt and fear.

If I were to win I would share with my friend who is struggeling in her marriage. She is broken hearted, a mother of two, and she is standing strong to fight for her marriage. Her husband had an affair and he is overcoming a sexual addiction as well.

Thank you, thank you , thank you for this huge and much needed encouragement and reassurance. I hadn't heard of Sheri Rose's books but will investigate. And Leebird, first to post here...I could also have written that first paragraph! I'll be turning 42 this year and very disappointed in my responses to God in the past two years. I don't want to waste any more time or go round in circles and would like to get right past all my fears, resistance and hang-up's!

Can I just say I am sobbing right now! I just left a leadership conference and I so needed to here this today. I have really been struggling with discerning God's voice within ministry lately and because of my past, allowing satan to get in those jabs. I have come a long way in my journey but find myself at yet another crossroad. I would share the gift of coaching with a friend who is having difficulty in her marriage and who is also burdened with a dysfunctional upbringing. The Cd's I would share with another gal within this group who is also struggling with realizing who she is in Chrst.(the heart - not head knowledge!) Thank you so much for your words and sharing your journey with us! You have both blessed me this day.

Renee,
I read your posting on Jill Savage's site and it so spoke to my heart today. I am a stay-at-home Mom with four kids - a 5-year old son and 19-month triplet girls. Most days are joy-filled, but this week I had one of those days. I had to apologize to my son several times and explain that today Mama needed the attitude adjustment.
So, your posting lifted my spirits and reminded me of all the reasons I love to be at home, even when I don't do the job I want to do.
Thanks for sharing your heart:)
In His service,

Please pray for me, sending my prayers for you and your family.

What a message! I find myself believing the lies Satan whispers in my ear. I am a daughter of the King of Kings but sometimes forget that fact! Thank you again for this reminder that I can choose to believe that Christ walks with me to help me moment by moment. Hello Renee and Sheri,

Ladies, you both are a blessing!

My name is Sylvia and I recently turned 50! I live in sunny Florida.

Thank you for your words of encouragement and reminder of Father's love for us. Sometimes I forget how crazy God is about me! Zephaniah 3:17 is one of my favorite scriptures. I share it often, but only recently did I truly receive it for myself.

Renee, I printed out the scriptures you shared and gave them to my daughter. One of the hardest things for me will be...Fast speaking lies. How powerful are our words and sometimes they just slip out.

Shari, I had your book and recently gave it away to my Mother-in-Law for her birthday, after reading one of God's love letters to her on the phone. It made her cry and she hardly ever cries. I know that particular letter was meant for my mother, who suffers with bi-polar disorder and Father God ordained the perfect time to share it.

I also wanted to share, I felt led to give my two sisters, who recently lost their father (my step-father) your book instead of a symphathy card. We live in three separate states. I know these beautiful letters are ministering healing to them.

I would share the book and your CD with my precious 16 year old daughter(who also has a learning disability),as she is walking through a time of healing and truly needs to know how much her King loves her and the beautiful Princess she is. I would invite and share the the Bible life-coaching CD with hopefully more than one friend in my home. I would give away a CD to a friend who walks the journey with a special needs child. My son is autistic and our whole family is walking through a time of healing. Father God is faithful!

Abundant Blessings!

Thank you for your sweet words of truth and encouragement. Heartbreaking....

Thank you for a wonderful picture into God's love for us and our worth to Him.

I'd share prizes with my wonderful girlfriend/sister by choice Deb -- a single gal who is out in the big bad work world trying to prove her worth -- how much better would her days and her stress level be to be reminded how important and worthy she is to God.

I will be 42 in exactly one month from today! I don't know if it is too late for the drawing or not, but since I came across this somewhat "accidently" I thought it was a good push for me to post. Your message was exactly what I needed to hear this morning and the idea of having a Bible Life Coach for a whole month sounds like exactly what I need in my life right now. About 2 months ago my husband and I got in a huge fight, and when I say huge, I mean HUGE. I said things to my husband that should have never been said and am slowly trying to put the pieces back together and earn back my husband's trust in the words I choose It has been come and go since then. I am doing my best to turn to God and be guided by Him to know what to do and who to be. Having someone coach me for a month would be such a blessing. I would share the coaching and the CDs with a good friend of mine, Karen, who has gone back to school to get her teaching degree and I know she is feeling stressed out and overwhelmed during this very exciting time in her life-these things would help her catch her breath.

Thanks for your meaningful words.
Make it a blessed day!

My name is Karen, I am 44 and live near Kalamazoo. Your devotion, Renee, really touched a deep place within me. I needed that reminder, the fact that He loves me not because I'm doing anything for Him but simply because I am His. I'm having a hard time lately wrapping my head around the fact that He can take and interest in me, amongst the billions of people on this earth, let alone love me regardless of what I do or don't do and many other things. So I clicked on the link to your blog where I read the list of who I am in Christ. Thank you for that. Thanks to Sheri also. It was a very meaningful message for me. So, on to the giveaway: the CD I would give to my mother-in-law; she is a constant worrier. The coaching is a more difficult choice. Hi Renee and Sheri... Thanks so much sharing God's Love Letter to me today. I really needed to hear it. My name is Paula. I'm 44 and I live in Wisconsin. Just recently moved here with my husband and my dad. My dad passed away last week and even though my heart and mind knows He's with the Lord now, it's so hard to realize that my dad is not here to love me like He's always been. He's been the one constant person in my life that has shown me that I am special and valued. I miss him so much.

Thanks for bringing my eyes back to our Heavenly Father Who is the One true love of my life and reminding me that I am His always.

I'm not positive who I would share the 2 week life coach thing with, I've never done anything like it so I'm not sure what it is. Part of me would love to give it to my daughter seeing how we both are aching with the passing of my dad/her poppa. Same with the CD, I think. I'm not sure if she'd be willing to try it, but I guess if it happens then I'll leave those details in His Hands too to open her heart to hear Him again and the love He has for her.

Thanks so much for your encouragement and love! God is clearly using you for building His Kingdom!

I am 51, live in Texas, and feel I am on a roller coaster ride that will not stop. Each day I look forward to reading the devotionals I receive from Proverbs 31. I know God has something there just for me. So many times we give it to God and just keep taking it back.

To be totally honest, I would have to search my heart, ask God to help me with the decision who to share these wonderful give aways with. I know several girlfriends who are in their own trial. Each person's trial is "huge" to them as it is their own personal situation.

I thank God for women such as you who He has given the talent to share and are willing to share their hurts with others. Thank you both for being Jesus' hands and feet in this very troubled world.

When I thought I was beginning to understand God's love for me, I was hurt, betrayed and abandoned all over again. God is speaking to me about depending on people's love will always fail me and that I need to start depending on His love which will NEVER fail me. Just today I have surrendered the lies of love to Him and made a decision to receive God's love for me and to live loved from this day forward. To put His truths into my heart and believe His truths about love and not put my trust in people's love anymore. If I receive the coaching or cds I will share them with the women on the Navajo reservation who are blinded by abuse of every kind from the One True Love, Jesus.

Hey Renee,

I'm 44 and live in NC. I'm new to viewing your website. But I love what I've read.

Over the past year, I've grown closer to the Lord than ever before. Mostly because I've been beginning to understand God's love for me personally. All the things I've known in my head all these years of being a Christian, I'm finally knowing in my heart. He is so amazing!

If I win the coaching or CD's, I'd share them with my new friend Sandra. We were in a Bible Study together and I know she would love to have the coaching or CD. If I win the CD, I'd also share my own copy with my friends and sisters. I love passing on what I learn to others.

Keep up the good work you are doing. It is so refreshing and uplifting to read through all that you've written. As a servant of Christ, wife, mom, homeschooler, daughter, sister, and friend, I'm thankful for a chance to breathe in the love of the Father through like-minded ladies. Now I can get back to my work with a spring in my step. Thank you and may the blessings you are bestowing on others return to you many times over!

Thank you for a heart-opening post. I have been in the valley for several months now dealing with pain from past abuse and mistreatment and throughout being there God is emphasizing His unconditional love for me. I have had a hard time accepting God's unconditional love as all of my life I have been loved conditionally but God is patiently delivering me from that mentality; praise Him.

I'm turning 30 this May and live in Michigan. Being in the valley right now I really believe I could benefit from some spiritual mentoring. I would give the other cd to my spiritual sister who wears so many hats; pastor's wife, mother of two under six years old, medical student, minister; I believe she could really use some time for herself that involves her being encouraged.

I know there are no coincidences, but this is uncanny! Just last week I was consoling the birth mother of our 3-year-old adopted daughter. We first met her when she picked us out of a stack of other profiles of hopeful adoptive parents. Since then I have tried to share with her God’s truth, little by little. In last week’s conversation, I told her that she is a daughter of the King! I told her that she does not have to believe the lies that keep her making bad choices and settling for less than God's best for her. Once she knows that she is the apple of God’s eye, she won’t need the approval of anyone else, and she will be able to replace the hurtful words hurled her way with words of truth from His Word. Through her tears and words of despair, I could tell that this was the first time she had ever heard such truth, but wasn't sure she could believe it. While there are times when she allows me in, and other times where she holds me at arms length, I know that our adoption story is bigger than the baby that was conceived, and God is trying to pursue her, trying to bring beauty from ashes. Life has not been easy for her, and the lies she has believed have taken their toll. Help me to help her please. Perhaps coaching from someone else, God has sent her way, might help her to see herself from His eyes? Certainly the gift of the book would be perfectly timed!

My name is Kecia. I am 46 years old and live in southern CA. My own story is filled with years of self-doubt and feelings of unworthiness. When I was eight years old my parents divorced and after two years of trying to be the part-time father, my daddy just left. At 12, I found out that he wasn't even my birth father. He had adopted me when my birth father decided that he didn’t want to be my daddy. I internalized this double rejection (accepting the false identity you spoke about), and spent many years searching for the love I was missing. Only after escaping a five-year-long abusive relationship and then a failed marriage, I met my current husband and tried to start a family. As we suffered through six miscarriages, I believed the lie that I deserved it and had brought this misery upon us because of the bad decisions I had made in the past. God was able to use my circumstances to pierce the thick layer of lies that covered my soul and through His grace and mercy I finally saw the true face of my Savior! Nine years ago I committed my broken life to His Lordship and service. He has brought me full circle, and I have learned what it means to be adopted into the family of God! He makes everything beautiful in its time, and last October I was reunited with my adoptive daddy for the last three weeks of his life. Forgiveness reached down and restored the years the locusts had eaten.

Now after experiencing adoption from the other side, I have been given the rare opportunity to witness, up close and personal, what it looks like when unconditional love invades the heart of the birth-mother and she is empowered to endure deeper pain, willingly pay a greater cost, and run the risk of losing her reputation for the sake of another. The courageous and selfless choice this young woman made has eternal value, and I want so badly for her to experience the unconditional love of her Father in Heaven. I want her to know she is His Princess! Sheri Rose, your “truth makeover” is just what she needs right now. No one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end, but I am convinced there are no coincidences... only God incidences!

Thank you for your encouraging post; I consider it confirmation and a kiss from the King that we are on the right track. Thank you for allowing me to share our story, and I hope you will consider choosing us for this perfectly timed Living Loved Give-away.

In Him,
Bugsmadre

Dear Renee and Sheri,
I'll be 35 this week and I live in Austin, Texas. I feel like I used to sparkle. I'm not sure how that changed, but lately I've been fighting - that's how it feels - to recapture that sense of knowing my worth in Christ. I have two precious daughters, 3 1/2 and 1 1/2 years old, and it grows more obvious everyday that they are watching me and absorbing into their hearts what comes from mine. With all that I am, I am struggling to fake for them what I can't genuinely muster on my own. I try to always look pretty, dress nicely, and workout, but will they see past the "pretty" veneer to the desperate dullness underneath? My fight is for them.
If I was blessed with the package of goodies, I would share it with my friend Holley. She has a two-year-old son and just gave birth to another little prince several weeks ago. Her self-worth seems to have taken a dive since becoming a mom, as she struggles with self-doubt about nearly every decision she makes. I think that's why we're such good friends, because we have that in common!
Thank you, ladies.
With love,
Gabrielle Shannan

Hi! My name is Suzy and I am 36 years old and from Findlay, Ohio. Thank you for sharing the "truth makeover" with us...it is a piece that I am putting in my reference journal to refer back to when I need that reminder of His truth.

If I would be chosen, I will share with my friend Trisha.

Many blessings to you!

Thanks for the opportunity. There are a couple of girlfriends I can share this with.

I am Karen from Camden, NC and I am 53 years young. What an awesome devotional and blog message. I needed to hear this today.

If I win either of the sharing prizes, I will share with my friend Lisa. She has had a very hard year. He husband and mother were diagnosed with cancer and her daughter-in-law had kidney failure and required a kidney transplant. All of this happened at the same time.

She is an incredible woman of faith but I know everyone needs encouragement.
