When a Wanna-be Decides She's Gonna Be!
I'm getting ready to hop on a plane to St Charles, Louisiana where I'll be speaking at the Trinity Baptist Church women's conference tonight and tomorrow, and I'd love to meet you there if you can join us!

I'm so excited to be headed south to my original home state. Did you know I'm a Louisiana born girl? I'm hoping I'll get to eat red beans and rice while I'm there. Speaking of red beans and rice, last week's winner of my Friday Give-away which includes a copy of LeAnn Rice's "Sharing Grace" recipe e-book is Anonymous who posted at 8:19pm who told us about her spaghetti sauce that killed a fly when he landed in it. I don't have your email so email it to me by 5pm on Monday 11/15 at renee@proverbs31.org or I'll need to pick another winner. And then you'll be so sad. However the rest of you don't have to be sad because you can order one or enter to win one next week since it's part of my next give-away, too!

Until then, I'd love it if you'd tell me a little about you!

What state (or country) do you live in, what season of life are you in (that's a polite way of asking how old you are), are you single, married, have kids, a dog or cat, etc. and what keeps you busy most weeks- work, family, church, etc?

Also, be sure to come back next week to find out what happened when this wanna-be decided she was gonna be!

I live in beautiful upstate SC. I'm married to a wonderful hubby and have 3 precious boys, 2 'daughter' dogs, and 1 cat. I work part-time as an Endoscopy nurse and am the children's minister at our church. I also sing on the praise team.

I live on the coast of NC. I'm going to be 30 in a little over a month (I still can't believe that!) and have an 11 month old boy and a 2 1/2 year old girl. I stopped working as a child and family therapist a little over a year ago to stay home with my little ones, and I love it, but am still adjusting to what it means to be a "SAHM". Looking forward to getting more involved at church and in some other activities once I wean my little guy!

Praying for you, Renee, and all the women attending the conference in Louisiana this weekend.

Blessed to be living in beautiful rural southwestern Ontario, Canada and sharing life with my awesome hubby for 28 years and our two sons ... ages 22(soon to be married), and 16(not a morning person & thinks school should start at noon:)
Love .... Jesus, watching the sun rise and set, experiencing life with other believers, being a stay-at-home wife and mom, long walks in the woods (with our dog Cassie) surrounded by God's incredible creation.
Thankful to be at a 'stage in life' where the truth of who God says I am in Him is speaking louder than the messages I've played in my head about who I thought I needed to be -- and wasn't. I am so appreciative of Proverbs 31 Ministry and your blogs where I have been nurtured and encouraged.
Blessings,
Sharon Telfer

I, too, was born in Louisiana and there must have been a douse or two of Louisiana hot sauce in my bottles, 'cause I love all things hot and spicy! In fact, at Christmas time we forget about a ham and make gumbo or jambalaya, fried shrimp and hushpuppies w/jalapenos and onion!
Renee, I'm sure hoping to get to hear you speak in 2011. You know you need a Florida getaway with a run on the beach and some good Greek food.

I live in Tennesse. I've been receiving Daily Encouragement emails from P31 for about 3 years now. I also follow most of the speakers' blogs (when time allows.) I am very happily married to my husband of 12 1/2 years and we have 3 boys. We are about to start a whole new season in our family. Our oldest son turns 16 on Dec 9th so we are fastly approaching a teenager with a license. I work outside our home full time. My favorite time is spent at home with my family rather we are busy or doing nothing at all that is my time WELL spent always. I just recently ate red beans and rice.....VERY GOOD stuff.

I'm a transplanted Yankee who lives in Alabama. I have 3 grown children and 5.5 gradchildren but I still think of myself as young. I am blessed every day and I love to read about the blessings of others. I am a forgiven, redeemed and restored woman working out what I "wanna be". Thanks for making me speak those words today. I feel better already......:)

I reside in Bagley, AL (just north of Birmingham) in my great-aunt's former home (remodeled and updated, of course) with my husband of almost 5 months. We're still unpacking boxes, alhtough most of our Saturdays involve Alabama football (with an occassional Auburn game thrown in too). I work at a law firm and have for almost 4 years now, but in my spare time, I travel around the state singing shape note music with other members of my family. (see more at www.fasola.org)
I'm developing some craft project ideas in my head, don't know if I'll be selling them or giving them away, but I've got to be crafty again!

Have fun in Louisiana!

We thoroughly enjoy our four year old dog who was a fabulous addition to our family. God's gift - we are sure of it. I work outside the home full-time. My husband is a pastor - which makes me a pastor's wife. Renee, I enjoy your blog especially when you share about day to day experiences with your husband and children! mheard11@frontier.com

Hi Renee,
I enjoy reading your blog. I was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota but now I live in Ohio. I have been married for 26 years. I have 2 sons. One is on a year long mission trip in Slovakia and the other is a sophmore in college. I work outside the home fulltime as an administrative assistant in a local government office. Most important of all I am a child of God.

I live in NW Arkansas. I am 31, married, a tween and a toddler at home, a weekend son (stepson), and one daughter who is with God. Homeschool and family keep me pretty busy, but we always make time to attend church when it's in session. Lately I've been on a mission to declutter my house, so that's been keeping me busy, too. I like to start my day with a cup of coffee and your blog. :)

Hi Renee,

I live in Kansas and we love to cheer on the K.U. Jayhawks! I have been reading Proverbs 31 for about 3 years and what a blessing it has been.

I am 43 and have been married for 24 years. We have a daughter in college, a son who is a Jr.in high school and a daughter in Heaven.

One of the lessons I have learned is, "God is good, always!" We are in the process of completing a home study and gettting close to beginning an adoption journey! We have prayed on this for quite some time and feel led in this direction.

I have to say while I am scared, really scared, I trust God more than I am scared and if adoption is His will, we want to be a part of it!

Please pray for us.
God Bless you,

natalie

I have recently begun "clearing my plate" in order to follow God in His leading. I have been called into Women's Ministry and am very excited to see where God leads me!

I attended She Speaks this past summer and am still discovering the blessings of all that I learned. Thank you for your ministry.

Have a blessed weekend,

Hi Renee! This is the first time I've ever been on this website and I love it. My name is Lynette Theisen, and I'm from Krugerville, Texas. If you blink, you'll be in the small town next to us called Aubrey! I was born & raised a Texas gal and proud of it!
I'm going to be forty next year. OUCH! But hey, I heard the 40's are the new 20's so I'm looking forward to being young again!
I have 4 kids who remind me all of the time just how old I am.
I am an aspiring writer and speaker too; which is why I came across this GREAT website. I would LOVE to come to the 2011 conference. I better start saving now as I am a full time mom and feel very blessed to be one. I did publish a Christian fiction novel this past April and guess what the main character's name is? Yup...RENEE!!! I chose it because it means "reborn."
Okay, so I've probably written way more than I should have, so for now, I'll say "Chow" and I hope to see you one day at a speaking engagement if you're in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area.
God bless you for being obedient to His calling. You are making a difference.

I'm a 48 year old woman, have been happily married for 29 years, two sons ages 22 and 17. We had a beautiful life, until our oldest son at age 18 became a prodigal. Mom, Dad, and younger brother were devistated and fell into depression but God would not leave us there. He has healed all three of us. Part of my healing came out at a pond in the woods behind my house and out of that experience I wrote several books. You can see more on my blog ponderingsbykris.blogspot.com. I am so thankful for a God who does not leave us in our pits, showers love and compassion, and is always teaching me lessons. I now run a blanket ministry for the homeless in our community and God is blessing this left and right!

I live in Ohio. Just turned 35 on Sunday. I married my wonderful husband 9yrs ago in Hawaii. We have 4 wonderful children, well most of the time, and 1 dog. Taking care of the children is a full-time job as our oldest is 7, twin 5yr olds and an 8 month old. We thought we were done, God had other plans. I am also the WM coordinator at our church and can't wait for you to come and speak in April.

I would love to read this book. It seems like I am struggling in listening to God in the small things like Matt 25 refers to.

Funny, but I've been struggling with wanting to hear God speak, longing for it more often than only when I have a big decision to make. Been enjoying the devotional, Jesus Calling by Sarah Young. I'm fairly new to P31 website, but love it! Thank you for committing to helping other women grow with God. For me, I've been married for 22 years, have 3 kids, a daughter who's a Freshman in high school, another daughter who's in 8th grade and a son in 6th. We also have a male dog, so it evens out the genders. Oh, and we live in Minnesota and my husband is trying really hard to get our back deck finished before winter REALLY sets in! I also love being a stay-at-home mom! Sandy

I know that I'm doing something that WWJD;(What Wouldn't Jesus Do"; it's the soap opera the "young and restless". As one of the actors says, "people love story telling". After writing this, it seems that the Holy Spirit is telling me to read the Story Telling of the Bible! I find that the woman's devotions most helpful for mediating on.
