But God!
I have so much to tell you guys but so little time this week. Today is Andrew's 5th grade graduation from Elementary school so I am hurrying to get out the door. But I just had to update you on some big news!

I have been writing and writing the past week. I was seriously ready to throw my computer and my book out the window. It was just so frustrated with how long it was taking me. Well, with God's constant reminders of the need through the survey results and gentle heart whispers, your comments, my husband's constant encouragement and many prayers, I finally FINISHED my 2nd chapter!! Whoo Hoo!! I felt like I'd given birth!

Yesterday I was editing my chapters and reviewing my whole proposal and cleaning up my "new baby" before sending it to my literary agent, and guess what happened?

We got a call from our adoption agency with a referral for a baby girl from Ethiopia!!!! As many of you know we have been in the process of waiting to adopt a daughter just over 10 months.

We have thought all along that we'd be adopting an older child, more around 6 years old. This baby girl is 6 MONTHS! We are excited yet nervous and praying a ton about it all. There are some great things about adopting a new baby but it's a huge leap in parenting stages since we have 11 and 14 yr old sons. We haven't done baby in quite a while. But GOD!!!

Please pray we, our whole family, will know clearly if this is God's baby girl for us!! And please pray for this sweet, precious baby who is 6 months old but only weighs 8lbs. She is very malnourished but doing better each day she gets the care and nourishment she needs. I wish I could show you her photo, she is such a little pumpkin!!!

Off to watch my baby boy graduate from Elementary school - wow!

Renee that is so exciting! Are you able to share what agency and how you started planning your adoption process? My husband and I are in Canada and have been married for almost eight years. We have been wanting and praying for children for so long! We are looking into adoption now and I have so many questions!

6 months old - what a blessing!

Renee,

Congratulations on the new middle school son, how exciting!

Your progress on the book is steady and I am singing praises with you.

I remember how much you have wanted to adopt. Praying that the Lord will place just the right child in your care. This precious baby girl needs love and help. If it is not with you then I pray that she is placed where she will be taken care of and loved. What a step to go back to baby from teen! God give you and your family wisdom with your decisions.
Praying,
Diane

OH MY STARS!!! You are going to be a mommy again! Congratulations! Our friends adopted a baby boy from Ethiopia this year. Everytime I heard Steven Curtis Chapman sing, It's All Yours God...I would sing a little louder on, "every child in Africa is yours" for baby Abe. Now I will continue to sing for a tiny baby girl who will call you mama!

Wow! What a week you have had!!!

You should do okay! Emi is 10 years older than Little Man, Eli 6 and Ery is 6 1/2. On the one hand, you have lots of helpers - sometimes too much :oP. It is hard, though, to balance activities with such a big age difference.

Congrats again!

Renee,

We recently adopted a little guy from ET and he has already brought us so much joy. There are so very many children there who need forever families, I know God will lead you to the perfect little one for your family! I know you're a busy mama, but feel free to check out our blog where we chronicled our journey to Abraham. www.aquiverfull-christy,blogspot.com

Congratulations. I had an adoption surprise 4 years ago myself. We were notified by our adoption agency that a baby sibling of one of our adopted children had been given up for adoption and we were asked if we wanted to adopt this child. We had given away all baby things by that time, but we were delighted. Of course, we did have to endure some not very nice comments from some relatives who thought they were being helpful. We are delighted to have this child a member of our family. I'm so glad I did not listen to them, but to the voice of God. Our little boy has a wonderful sense of humor and makes us giggle all the time! He's so adorable! I can not imagine our life without him. I do believe God has a sense of humor when I realized that I will be in my 60's when he graduates from high school! Congratulations. Keep us posted on all updates!

Just getting caught up on your blog Renee. (Haven't had much time on the computer recently because of the situation with Dad...and actually taking a computer sabatical is not such a bad thing...spending more time being with family and friends than doing Internet.)

So excited about this news!!!! I have a girlfriend who has been waiting over 3 years to adopt a baby girl from China, so your ten month wait seems AMAZING!!!! And a baby girl...WOW!!! Don't worry about the age gap. My sister was 18 when I was born...now there's an age difference! She was married when I was 3 years old. It was harder when I was younger...like having 2 Mom's, but now we're the best of friends.

Love, hugs and prayers,
Joy

Rene,

Congratulations! That is such wonderful news! She will be so blessed to have you as her mommy. I can't wait to follow your adoption journey through your blog. It is such a joy to have a daughter. My youngest daughter had her Kindergarten Graduation this week.

I'm happy to hear that your writing is going well. You will be in my prayers.

Happy Summer! (Can't wait until She Speaks!)
